Troop 72 at Philmont 2016: Day 0
June 5-21, 2016, the Scouts of Troop72.com embarked on the greatest adventure in Scouting: PHILMONT!

Day 0 (7/07/16): Kansas to Philmont Base Camp

Day 0 for our Philmont trip saw us waking up in on the Amtrak in Eastern Colorado, and rolling into Raton, New Mexico at 10:53 a.m. -- amazingly, right on time! That extra cushion allowed us to take the shuttle bus from Philmont base camp to Cimarron, where we explored the historic St. James Hotel and some other free museums, before enjoying burgers and malts.

That evening back at base camp, we got to meet our official Ranger: David Arneberg, Eagle Scout from our own troop!

Here are a some photos I took with my new Canon 70D camera.
