On January 21-23, 2011, the Scouts of
Troop72.com got together with a few
other troops for their annual "Super K Derby" (also known as "Klondike
Derby") at L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation in Northern
Wisconsin. We had a great time with 125 campers, 28 participants for
Saturday only, and 12 spectators, for a total of 165 people.
This included sixteen sled teams from ten troops and six Webelos
dens, participating in 18 activities at nine different stations.
Big operation!
We had NINE brave "Zero Hero" winners in our troop, who slept outside Friday and/or Saturday nights, as temperatures plunged to -6 and -22 degrees F, respectively. (Dave Linse reports that six more from other troops also slept outside, just for the fun of it.) Here are a some photos I took with my FZ50 camera. - Tom Arneberg (toma@arneberg.com) |
