During July 15-30, 2010, twelve lucky Scouts and dads (a full
crew) from
Troop72.com in Chippewa Falls,
Wisconsin embarked on a great adventure:
PHILMONT!
Here are a some photos I took with my
FZ50 camera.
Day 11 was our last full day of hiking on the trail. And it was LONG -- our longest day of the trek carrying full packs. We had a strenuous uphill from Dean Cow over a ridge, then along Turkey Creek Canyon down to cross under the highway. Then it was up, up, up to Harlan, where we enjoyed reloading shotguns shells, trap shooting, and burro racing. Our boys were the burro racing champions -- TWICE, with two different burros! First place prize was powdered milk and chocolate syrup. - Tom Arneberg (toma@arneberg.com)Jump to another day of the expedition: |
