Philmont 2010: Day 1: Base camp Philmont 2010: Day 1: Base camp

During July 15-30, 2010, twelve lucky Scouts and dads (a full crew) from Troop72.com in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin embarked on a great adventure: PHILMONT! Here are a some photos I took with my FZ50 camera.

This page of photos are from the first day at Philmont. We got there around 10:00 a.m., and that day was spent getting gear and supplies and learning about the Philmont Way. We slept in platform tents and ate in a dining hall, and spent a lot of time in a very well supplied trading post. The evening culminated in an outdoor chapel service and campfire skits.
