For the first time ever, the Scouts of
Troop72.com marched in a parade. It
was great! The Pure Water Days Parade was held as always on the second
Saturday of August (August 9, 2008) in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
Overcoming some trepidation at the thought of friends seeing them in
uniform, they discovered it wasn't that bad. And the crowd really
liked them, especially the three Scouts riding unicycles, including
our bugler who played WHILE riding his unicycle!
For their efforts, the Scouts were thrilled to earn a FIRST PLACE trophy for Best Float in the amateur division! Special thanks to Mr. Larry Hoffman for marching along, to Mr. Rod Schrader for driving the truck and getting the float ready, and to Mrs. Julie Schaller for whisking six older Scouts back from the end of the parade after the Chi-Hi Marching Band finished so they could march the entire route again with the Boy Scouts.
