Troop72.com hit the trail, but this
time with wheels. They bicycled from Chippewa Falls to Brunet Island
State Park and back, a total of 55 miles over two days! As in 2003,
they biked the entire length of the
Old Abe Trail from Lake Wissota to Cornell. But this time they got
to add the new trails right in Chippewa Falls, going behind
Leinenkugels along Dnncan Creek, then along the Chippewa River to the
Pumphouse area, and then through the new business development by the
hospital and across the Chippewa River on the restored railroad
bridge. We had 42 tires, and not a single flat!
Thanks to dads who joined us on the trail (Larry Hoffman, Darin Thomas, Steve Nutzmann, John Burgess), to the mom who brought lunch to us in Jim Falls (Julie Schaller), and to the dad who hauled the trailer of camping up and back again (Scott Tillotson). It was great to have SEVEN adults helping out! The fifteen boys who came had a great time and are eager to do it again.
Here are a some photos I took with my
FZ30 digital camera, for your viewing pleasure.
