On January 2-4, 2004, boys from
Troop72.com
of the Boy Scouts of America spent another great weekend at the
Fred C. Anderson Scout Reservation near Stillwater, MN.
There was just enough wet snow for a meaningful snowball fight on
Friday night, before temperatures dropped to the single digits on
Saturday. This was the troop's first stay in the Adirondacks cabins,
where each patrol gets their own private 8-bunk cabin with no
grownups! (Back in the 1970's, these cabins were heated with a wood
stove...the gas furnace has taken away some of the charm, but the
boys were still enthusiastically unanimous about returning to these
smaller patrol cabins next time.) There was also plenty of time for
the Woodcarving Merit Badge, aptly taught by guest expert Jim
Arneberg.
